Summary
If we serve as a good tool, Buddha’s blessing power can be conveyed to this world through us, benefiting everyone, including our neighbors, friends, relatives of five, sixe, seven, eight, nine, or even ten generations so that they may get liberated. If we don’t practice well, we may obstruct Buddha’s power. Therefore, getting initiated alone is not enough. We ourselves have go practice diligently so that Buddha’s blessing power can benefit our relatives, friends and this world via our clean and pure minds.
It takes tremendous affinity of many lifetimes to be able to practice. It also takes wisdom and sincerity. If one doesn’t follow a master’s instruction to meditate, practice and keep the precepts, it’s no use even if one stays next the master. However, it is very difficult to follow a master’s words. The Supreme Master Ching Hai told the story of Maudgalyayana as an example to illustrate that if Maudgalyayana had followed Sakyamuni Buddha’s words completely and practiced earnestly instead of competing magic power with others all the time, he might have had more time for spiritual practice and concentrated better. Master also reminds us that magic power can never win over merits or the virtue and power of spiritual practice.
