- Summary
The Lunar New Year or Spring Festival is the most widely celebrated holiday in many Asian countries. It’s a time for getting together with family and friends. To mark the Lunar New Year, our Association members hold international retreats to meditate for world peace and celebrate as one big global family. Now let’s enjoy the entertaining programs presented by our Association members during the New Year international retreat held at the Hsihu Ashram in February 2018. Welcome the Chinese zither performance "Fragrance of Jasmine," by the Tainan center, Taiwan (Formosa). The next program is a dance "Auspicious Moonlight Shines on Spring Lotus" by initiates from Nantau center, Taiwan (Formosa). Our next performance is a song dedicated to the Sun. And it's called "Song 4 the Sun." This song is one of the poems from Master's book, "The Love of Centuries." Let's enjoy the next performance. A sister from China will perform a type of Chinese folk dance, the Northeast Yangko, called "A Beautiful Girl." Our next program brought by a sister from China, is a classical solo dance-“Hundreds of Flowers Blooming”. Next is the combined performance of our Mongolian and Inner Mongolia initiates to present the song “Grateful Offering to Master”. The song was adapted from a very popular song in the 1970’s in Mongolia. The next performance is a traditional dance called “Paradise Island of Ultimate Bliss”, by the Bali center from Indonesia. This dance depicts the birds of paradise brilliant radiant feathers. This dance depicts the happiness when all living creatures coexist in love. Gifting children with red envelopes containing money, exchanging presents, wearing new clothes for good luck, cleaning up the house, and praying to God or the Buddhas for an auspicious year. Now let’s enjoy the entertaining programs presented by our Association members during the New Year international retreat held at the Hsihu Ashram in February 2018. The song called ”The Horizon” from Inner Mongolia. The left foot dance of the Yi ethnic people, called The Torch Festival. Next the initiates from Taipei (and Hsinchu), Taiwan (Formosa), will bring us the Spring Festival prelude “Seed Sowing”. The piece is about people joyously celebrating the spring festival. Next is, “Spring Season Dance” by Âu Lạc fellow initiates. May planet Earth be peaceful. May everyone smile happily. We welcome our sister from Mongolia to sing for us. Up next is a program portraying Chinese traditional culture. Let’s welcome this international team to perform “Four Seas Unified for the New Year”. |
