- Summary
Master reminds us that in spiritual practice and in the course of pursuing Tao, we should not be so rushed and anxious to catch Buddha, or want to become a Buddha in a short time. Instead, we should be cool in our practice. How to be cool is spiritual practice?
There are two true modern time stories, one is on how Master’s transcendental body saves people from dangerous situation, and the other is on how Her transcendental body delivered the deceased. In the first story, an old man from Puli passed away and several Buddhist masters were invited to recite sutras for him. However, the more these masters recited the sutras, the darker the old man’s face grew. What made the situation turn around in the end? In the second story, what happened after a fellow initiate played Master’s chanting tape that made the staff who had been working in the funeral house for more than 20 years keep saying he had never seen anything like this? On the eve of Christmas, Master told the young initiates the real reason why there were extraordinary signs at the birth of Jesus Christ and Shakyamuni Buddha. She further explained what qualified one as an enlightened Master, or a living Buddha, and what kind of incredible powers the saints or Buddhas have so that they can guide us both in this world and in the spiritual world.
