Do you want to know why the Ninth Zen Patriarch hadn’t even walked a step or spoken a word until he was 50 years old, and why the Tenth Zen Patriarch had to wait for 60 years in his mother’s womb until he was born? Please listen to the interesting story of the Ninth and Tenth Zen Patriarchs told by Supreme Master Qing Hai.

Our mind is like a recorder. It records everything. It's not that our souls are bad, it is only our mind. Our true Self or Buddha nature is originally perfect and there’s no need to fix anything. But it is covered by our mind and can’t go out or show up. That’s why we need to fix the mind. What is Maya? It is our mind. If our mind is not benevolent, we can not become Buddha, so the first one to make friend with is our own mind. The mind comes from Maya’s power which creates this world. There would be no human without him, so he is also our parent and relative. Maya also comes from Buddha. Both Maya and human are Bodhisattva, Buddha, and the residue of samma sambuddha.
