  • Summary

We always have illusions  about  being an enlightened Master. But the position of an enlightened Master means  sacrifice and dedication, and His/Her physical body  has to bear the karma  that disciples should pay. Sometimes even when a Master is talking and laughing with  disciples, He/She is actually enduring  sufferings inside worse  than hell. In this lecture, Supreme Master Ching Hai disclosed to us how much effort a living Master needs to make to teach  disciples, in which the pains  and love of a living Master is beyond our imagination; and this is just a tip of an iceberg.

Master says that She herself could not do everything. To handle the worldly things is very tiresome. She could not stay in the mundane level too long, otherwise She would die. Master is not here to deal with  worldly things, but  to remind us to go home and bring us to our heavenly home. Most  great practitioners are not even willing to come out, let alone deal with the trivial mundane matters . Although you just practiced a little bit,  you already feel  bored with worldly things, how much for unbearable would  Master feel?. And now Master has to take care of those things that even we do not want to. Can you imagine how painful it is for  Master r? If you think Master does not have patience, then you really don’t have no  eyesight. Master does not expect  we could understand Her, but She’d like us to know how to think with logic .

Supreme Master also tells the story of an American practitioner who passed  above Asura realm in just three days,  encouraging us not to be afraid of karma. If sometimes we have intangible or tangible obstacles, no matter it is jealousy, Asura emotions, or greed, anger  and delusion, or any other invisible barriers, we only need  to practice more to overcome it,  there is no other way! We shoulde  read more Master's books, listen more to Master’s lecture audio tapes, meditate more and do more sound meditation. We must practice more diligently, make more effort, and focus more within  the Dao. It’s only safe when hiding inside the Dao, nowhere else is safe.
